Most of us love nature and all its treasures that brings with it so why not incorporate some of the natural elements into our living space. I have to admit it took me a while to realize that holding on to tight remodelling budget would not only bring me to mostly Ikea or other retailer stores with mass production home items which btw. can also have some pretty good stuff. Dwelling on aesthetic and minimalistic options of interior decoration and growing awareness of Earth’s resources it started to become clear to me that natural and organic appeal of elements made me feel calm and more welcomed into a space. Of course this is just my perception but I’m sure also you could experience similar feelings being surrounded with natural sunlight, wood furniture or wood finish, brick as sturdy building component, cotton, ceramic, stone and seagrass to name just a few. Bear in mind natural style doesn’t have to expensive and unaffordable, using less of it and making items by yourself can be two main guidelines to achieve it.

It might not be everyone’s thing but adding some freshness, space and air to your interior will definitely make it more unique and romantics is an assured bonus. Whether this has something to do with the secrecy of these spaces or just the charm they radiate, there is definitely many challenges associated with the designing in order to end up with a beautiful and functional result. Turning it into a room of your dreams you must decide what direction you want to take for you to turn it into something special and unique which the attic space definitely deserves. This 280-year old restored house located in Kobarid – Slovenia is an ultimate reflection of its owner and creator Matthew Norfolk, British interior designer, who is also a passionate photographer and a world traveller. A three-storied property which exudes a cobbled charm offers unique retreat for wine enthusiasts, nature lovers and adventure seekers visiting the Soča valley. The interior comprising of three bedrooms (each has their own bathroom) is a mix of rustic and eclectic style with reclaimed wood furniture elements, prominent heterogenic décor and diverse fabrics. The ultimate expression of design freedom with quirky details sparks the tenants’ imagination and with its vivacious colour palette invokes ones adventurous spirit. I had the immense pleasure to have a sneak peak at this quite overwhelming interior scenery and fit in our “Stef” chair to check how it would merge with this colourful holiday residence. Creating cool and serene feel for your home with blue

In interior decorating, we can use blue colour scheme to create a reflective, kind of ‘intellectual’ atmosphere: it’s not easy to overheat emotionally and get upset or aggressive in a ‘cool’ environment – and the color blue has actually been shown to lower our blood pressure and heart rate.

We can also use the color blue to cool down a hot, sunny room. Obviously, blue doesn’t actually lower the temperature, but it makes us feel cooler. The reverse is true when you’re decorating a north-facing room. Blue walls, flooring, or furniture can give it a distinctly ‘arctic’ feel. If you want to use the psychological effects of the color blue to create a meditative, spiritual environment, indigo is a good candidate for you.
