This 280-year old restored house located in Kobarid – Slovenia is an ultimate reflection of its owner and creator Matthew Norfolk, British interior designer, who is also a passionate photographer and a world traveller. A three-storied property which exudes a cobbled charm offers unique retreat for wine enthusiasts, nature lovers and adventure seekers visiting the Soča valley. The interior comprising of three bedrooms (each has their own bathroom) is a mix of rustic and eclectic style with reclaimed wood furniture elements, prominent heterogenic décor and diverse fabrics. The ultimate expression of design freedom with quirky details sparks the tenants’ imagination and with its vivacious colour palette invokes ones adventurous spirit. I had the immense pleasure to have a sneak peak at this quite overwhelming interior scenery and fit in our “Stef” chair to check how it would merge with this colourful holiday residence. Big thanks to Matthew and Danjela for making this unforgettable experience possible.

Boutique hotel inspired by bohemian style with the hidden power of neutrals

You can find many descriptions for the place called Scorpios on the island of Mykonos, for example a true and authentic, rustic beach experience, a lifestyle commune, sophisticated modern agora, celebration of traditional craftsmanship, organic materials and a bohemian style interior design, etc. It most definitely stands for something inspiring.

Joined forces from the Greek K-Studio and Lambs and Lions’ Michael Schickinger together with interior decorator Annabell Kutucu resulted in creation of a specific seaside retreat. Built from whitewashed stones and decorated with local natural materials that honor traditional craftsmanship. Straw furniture, knitted hammocks, wicker baskets and rough wooden furniture are all part of this laid-back artistic resort.

Unique Italian holiday house in the countryside

When you visit villa Vergelle, which is located in Tuscany, get ready for surprise. Traditional exterior of the former farm house hides a more luxurious industrial interior with concrete floors and iron pilasters. Some of the furniture pieces are made of old unpainted wood and together with raw cement finish that gives the inside of the otherwise beautiful vacation home a more profound character and the so called industrial masculinity.
