I just fell in love with wabi-sabi and how it represents the art of finding beauty in imperfection, modest living and unnecessary abundance. This style values simplicity, uncluttered, underplayed and modest surroundings, therefore the authenticity of its decor is crucial. So the existence of cracks and scratches in objects is so to speak the symbolic of the passing of time, weather and loving use. Another feature to wabi-sabi is the idea of the “distinct pretty” vs. “unique beauty.” Unlike shabby chic, wabi-sabi decor triggers minimalism which focal point are the people who live in the space than anything else. Possessions and other items are reduced to the essentials based on utility, beauty or nostalgia. The color palette is induced by whites and earth tones considering the use of natural materials.

Recently concrete as a material is becoming very popular and modern (I have to admit I’m fond of it myself). This material is often used in interior design, in reality its use very much depends on the region where the building is situated . This time I would like to present bathroom designs that are made with concrete or stone. Some of them are only partly made of concrete and some are all made out of it. Concrete is often mixed with wood. Because of the concrete coldness the combination with wood makes the space much warmer and balanced in some way. The concrete can on the other hand also be mixed with vivid colors, which makes the space feel more cheerful.
